Just a note to those who have recently started to lose weight. How are you doing? Do you still have motivation? Are you having success?
Today as you read, be encouraged. Even if you haven’t lost a pound in more than a week, keep at it. Don’t give up. It’s in giving up that you lose all possibility of success. If you keep going, it’s not a question of if, but when you will see those pounds go away.
Take an extra walk or do some other activity that makes you feel good and burns a few extra calories. Someone may need to have an ice cream (or a cookie, whatever is a treat for you). I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but I’m not talking more than one, not talking daily, but sometimes if you’ve had too few calories for too long your body needs to know you’re going to feed it. And an ice cream just might lift your spirits and give you there inner strength to continue.
It takes a great deal of restraint to have an ice cream and limit it to just one, once in a rare while. But if you can do that, it means you’re developing new habits for your life. If you can see it as a treat and move on, you’re making progress.
If you do have an ice cream, don’t beat yourself up. You made a decision understanding what it meant. Burn a few more calories and jump right back on your plan. Keep moving forward and don’t give up, because you can make it.
